Medical Students Explore Neurodegeneration at the SyNergy Science Day
Organized by the SyNergy Translational Teaching Track, the SyNergy Science Day welcomed around 300 medical students for a hands-on and inspiring exploration of neurodegenerative disease research.
In engaging talks, SyNergy researchers presented cutting-edge insights into Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, followed by lively discussions with clinicians and scientists. A special highlight was the opportunity for students to examine historical brain sections using microscopes to identify Alzheimer’s plaques — creating a tangible link between the history of neuroscience and modern research.
During the Cineducation session, students watched an Alzheimer-themed film in a relaxed atmosphere with popcorn and drinks, approaching the topic from an emotional and human perspective. Throughout the day, and especially during breaks and the final discussion, curious students raised key questions, leading to thoughtful and dynamic exchanges with the researchers.
A memorable day combining science, history, and dialogue.
