Open Position: Technical Assistant (MTA/BTA/CTA) Electron Microscopy.

The Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology (SyNergy) deciphers the interplay of different pathomechanisms in the development of neurological diseases (http://www.synergy-munich.de). The researchers involved are investigating how inflammatory reactions influence neurodegenerative processes, what interactions microvascular and degenerative mechanisms of damage unfold and, finally, how immune cells interact with the blood-brain barrier.

Technical Assistant (MTA/BTA/CTA) Electron Microscopy

to strengthen the SyNergy Nanoscale Hub in full-time/part-time.

The scope of duties in the Electron Microscopy unit includes sample preparation, support in image acquisition and processing, and organizational activities. We are a young team with diverse collaborations and enjoy tackling new tasks. We offer a versatile and diversified activity in a pleasant working environment and excellent working conditions. Remuneration is based on qualifications according to TV-L, the maximum salary group is E9b

Your profile

We are looking for motivated applicants with completed training as a technical assistant (BTA, CTA, LTA, MTA) who share our enthusiasm for microscopy in science. Candidates with experience in electron microscopy are highly preferred. A high motivation to learning new techniques as well as good communication, accurate working and organizational skills are essential. Any of the following fields of experience is desirable: High pressure freezing, serial sectioning, FIB-SEM, immunogold labeling or 3D image analysis, python scripting.
