SyNergy launches a podcast series about dementia research

From Alzheimer's to stroke, from the clinic to 3D tissue models – our researchers share their passion for studying neurological diseases in a new German podcast series: “Der Podcast zur Demenzforschung: Verständlich erklärt.” In ten 30-minute episodes, they explain the onset and treatment of these diseases, present the latest research findings, and dispel common misconceptions.

Can a vaccination treat or prevent Alzheimer’s? What is the current status of research on Multiple Sclerosis, and what can we expect in ten years? And how can results from the lab be translated into clinical practice? Our researchers take the listeners on a journey about what it means to be a researcher, how their research interrelates, the status of their field, and their hopes for the future. A podcast for all those who are curious, affected, or looking for information.

In the first episode, our speakers Christian Haass and Thomas Misgeld shed light on the research and aims of the SyNergy cluster and dementia research in general. Subsequent episodes dive deeper into the neurological disorders our researchers focus on – Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, MS, and stroke – and highlight two of the many innovative methods they use – 3D brain tissue engineering and stem cell research.

The podcast series can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts
