Press Release: “Hartwig Piepenbrock-DZNE Prize” for SyNergy member Christian Haass

This year’s “Hartwig Piepenbrock-DZNE Prize”, which is endowed with 60,000 euros, goes to the Munich biochemist and Alzheimer’s researcher Christian Haass. The prize is awarded by the company Piepenbrock and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). Haass is a professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and site speaker for the DZNE Munich.

“Christian Haass is one of the world’s leading experts on the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease,” said Professor Pierluigi Nicotera, Chairman of the DZNE’s Executive Board. “We owe him groundbreaking insights into proteins and immune reactions involved in Alzheimer’s disease. Christian Haass has thus laid the foundations for new approaches in therapy and diagnosis. He has played a key role in Alzheimer’s research over the past 30 years and continues to do so today.”

SyNergy-Mitglied Christian Haass erhält  "Hartwig Piepenbrock-DZNE Preis" 2019

Der Münchner Biochemiker und Alzheimer-Forscher Christian Haass erhält den diesjährigen, mit 60.000 Euro dotierten "Hartwig Piepenbrock-DZNE Preis". Die Auszeichnung wird gemeinsam von der Piepenbrock Unternehmensgruppe und dem DZNE verliehen. Haass ist Professor an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München und Sprecher des Münchner Standorts des DZNE. Der Preis wird am 30. September 2019 in Bonn überreicht – im Nachgang des „Welt-Alzheimertages“, der am 21. September begangen wird.
