Reinhard Hohlfeld: the neurologist with the magic touch

SyNergy-PI Reinhard Hohlfeld, Professor of Neurology and Clinical Neuroscience and Director of the Institute of Clinical Neuroimmunology at Ludwig Maximilian's University of Munich (LMU-Munich), wasn't going to be a neurologist.

Although as a child he was fascinated by the human brain, and how the trial and error of evolution could produce an organ that could understand the universe, it was the universe Hohlfeld wanted to understand. Excited by the moons of Jupiter and the great nebula in Orion, Hohlfeld wanted to be a theoretical physicist, or better still, a cosmologist.
